The owners of this lot in Rye, NY wanted to maximize the square footage of their home in order to accommodate enough space for their growing family. The result: a four story building.  The sloping lot allows for a full walk-out on the upper basement while generous light wells provide natural light and safety exits from the lower basement.  These lower levels add significant space for the modest footprint, totaling 5,500 square feet, with two levels underneath the entire structure, including the garage!

Coyle Homes stick-built the custom home with a two wood-framed upper floors, constructed on two heavily-reinforced steel and concrete basement levels.

There are even a few special features for the young children. There’s a child-sized door connecting the bedrooms of the siblings and a cozy, illuminated space underneath one of the stairs, fully carpeted, trimmed, and finished for a perfect pint-sized hideaway.
